We have discussed backlinks in previous articles but a subject that we haven’t touched on much is the value in creating Link Bait.
The term link bait refers to content that entices others to link to it out of sheer value and usefulness determined by the reader. We all know how difficult it is to aquire relevant links, so wouldn’t it be nice to take a step back, create something that is of extreme value and let the links come to you?
One example of link bait is Technorati’s famous “Add this to your favorites” button. Notice that when people click on this button it takes them to Technorati’s website rather than performing the action on your own website. Great concept right?
After doing some research i’ve decided to start a special project, if you have a site or blog on a similar topic as this one, go ahead and leave a comment letting me know you would like a link. I will go ahead and add it to this post! If you have two releavant blogs with different URL’s, please link this article or website to the second blog or site and I will link you to the first. This way we will be generating fantastic one way backlinks and won’t have to sell off our next of kin to get them!
