How to Make Money Online with Google

This article focuses on how to make money online with google. In recent articles I have discussed how to make money with other opportunities including Me2Everyone, Project Payday, Aweber, PayPerPost etc… For people that have been following my articles they may be able to read between the lines and see that I have not been focusing on those individual products or services because they are my absolute favorite although most things I recommend I have used to make money in the past or are currently using to make money now.

One of the reasons I have diverged from topics of primary focus like internet marketing, backlinks, google page rank and search engine optimization is so I can make some progress in the Google search results. Generally it is very hard to rank for competitive keywords when your site is brand new. Maybe you have experienced the same problem with blogs or websites that you’ve been working on recently. There are many reasons why you won’t hit the top of the search rankings with your first few posts. I’d like to explore the following question:

How can I get my website to the top of the search results?

Well, try to focus on these things for starters:

1.) Create content that contains your niche keywords. Generally try to make sure you slip your keywords into your articles once every hundred words.

2.) Create internal links to connect articles that touch on certain topics to other articles that elaborate on those targets.

3.) Focus on developing strategic linking partners that are willing to help you set up 3-way linking strategies. Link to each other’s sites using targeted keyword anchor text.

4.) Create separate articles for the article directories like GoArticles and EzineArticles.

5.) Register at do-follow forums like SitePoint and Digital Point Forums. Generally after you post enough times they will let you create a signature with an anchor text link that will give you some good do-follow link juice as you participate in discussions.

6.) Post relevant comments on blogs that have Comment Luv Plugins and Do-Follow plugins.

7.) Create an account at EntreCard and send messages to potential strategic linking partners. It doesn’t hurt to drop your card a few times on them before you start trying to build a relationship.

8.) Set up accounts at all the social networking sites like Digg, Technorati and StumbleUpon. A service that I use all the type to post my articles to do-follow social networking sites is called SocialMarker.com.

Follow these strategies for starters and you will see some major improvements in your Page Rank and SEO for keyword terms that are not incredibly competitive.

If you’ve gained something from this article so far that was not my primary intent but rather a useful way to demonstrate how many keywords you can manage to use when discussing “How Can I Get My Website To The Top Of Google.”

Terms like page rank and search engine optimization, don’t they all boil down to one thing? Traffic!! You want web traffic, I want web traffic, and we all want web traffic and who is the primary supplier? The big G is the primary supplier, so its our job to make Google, Yahoo and MSN spiders happy by providing them with enough relevant content and targeted keywords to give our search engine ranking places a boost and make our targeted keywords more relevant.

What happens when someone asks Google a question? Well, it’s pretty obvious that Google looks through its search index and finds the source it deems to be most relevant or helpful to the user.

Well, if we have the most relevant content regarding that search criteria, our chances are better than most. The tie-breaker will most likely be based on your page rank and the quantity of relevant anchor text backlinks essentially vouching for your legitimacy regarding whatever the topic may be.

Lets discuss the matter of backlinks while we are on the subject… If you want to make money online and more specifically if you want to make money online by teaching others about how to make money online then not only will you need to provide content that corresponds with that goal.

The second thing you will need are links from sites with high credibility and page rank with anchor text that matches your objective. If you’re content is better, you’re keywords have higher density then your competitor’s and your backlinks outnumber theirs in both quality and quantity, there is no reason that you should not outrank them unless your site is new and still potentially stuck in the Google Sandbox.

While we are discussing links lets bring up another important topic…

What is quality difference between one-way backlinks and two-way backlinks?

Well, obviously one way links are better than two way links because they will give off more link juice. However, two way backlinks are extremely valuable in their own respect because they have the possibility of bringing much needed traffic to your website. If you think about the situation from a cause and effect perspective, you might come to the conclusion that my links will bring you visitors that are unfamiliar with your work and vise versa. A website has the ability to grow exponentially given the right conditions. In regard to page rank, two way links will not bring that much link juice but two way links are still much better than no links at all if the websites that are linking have equal page rank.

If you want more natural search engine traffic from Google then you are going to need to focus on one-way links as much as possible. Beyond that, you need one way links that are related to your niche. If you have links that are outside your niche Google will at bare minimum disregard those links and in the worst case scenario they will penalize your page rank.

Keep in mind that Google is focused on providing the best experience for the web surfer not the website owner. The reason they are on top is because people find their service to be the most user friendly.

Back in the days two-way links were just as good as one-way links and spam sites ruled the top of the search engines. This was great for the Adsense spammers but horrible for advertisers and the people that were actually using their search engine.

This was eventually corrected and high page rank one-way links became king. Those spammers didn’t give up though; the ones that were really determined went out and paid for one-way links and before long they were back on top making more money then before.

The truth is, if you want to make money online in this day and age you are going to have to find high quality, high page rank sites that are willing to give you keyword anchor text links.

If your article is really great, some site owners may decide to link to you as a reference and might even decide to write a review about how much they like your website. If you want my advice, don’t hold your breath… Reach out and find strategic networking partners, develop your own community on the web and support each other’s efforts as much as you can.

How else can you get these high quality anchor text backlinks?

Create articles that are unique embed them with your anchor text links and put them out on article directories in the hope that website owners will come across them and decide to post them on their websites. This is what we call a viral marketing technique and it is one of the white hat techniques that internet marketers have been using for years.

If you really luck out, someone that has a reputable site in your same niche will decide that they really like you, your article or something about your website and offer you an olive branch of friendship with an anchor text link to something in your domain. How do you find the time to create articles for both your website and the article directories? Well, the fact of the matter is that if you write really good articles, you won’t need that many to get a buzz going. Keep in mind hundreds of sites are scouring the article directories in search of quality content to add to their websites. If you create something that is of true value to them its only a matter of time until they start spreading the link love like crazy and you will be so drunk on link juice you wont know what to do with the resulting traffic.

There is always another option if you don’t want to write the articles and invest the time to get this strategy rolling. You can always consider paying me to write your articles for you… This business is starting to become pretty lucrative anyway you break it down…

When discussing how to rank high in Google, sometimes people will throw out terms like:

White Hat Techniques / Black Hat Techniques

White Hat Techniques are methods that will ultimately get you high SERP’s i.e. Search Engine Ranking Places while implementing strategies that are approved by Google.

Black Hat techniques are generally methods like keyword stuffing, meta tag stuffing etc… These are strategies that Google doesn’t approve of and even worse, if they find you using these tactics get ready to fall off the map.

If I were to use all the keyword terms I wanted to rank high for in the same post repeatedly, that would be considered keyword stuffing.

If I were to place all these terms in an article, can you imagine how many hits I would get?

Notice most of those keyword terms in that long string of text are variations on one term or another. Can you imagine all the variations that people look for every minute of every day? It’s hard to believe that there are six billion people living on this planet and huge percentage of those people have access to the internet!

Keep in mind that keyword stuffing is a black hat technique and should not be used on a blog or website unless you really know what you are doing. Generally if you use a keyword term once every hundred words you should be fine, anything above that is playing with fire.

The reason I can get away with a long string of words like that and not be penalized is because strictly speaking, I am playing by the rules. At this point in the article I am on track to beat my record!

Technically there are techniques that don’t fall within White Hats and Black Hats… They can only be described as Grey Hat techniques, where right and wrong intersect. If you want to make money online with Google then you are going to have to get really good at incorporating keywords, masterfully crafting anchor text backlinks and getting them placed in sites that have high PR and generally becoming a black belt in the ways of internet marketing.

Making money with Google Adsense is not difficult if you have a huge quantity of natural search engine traffic. It’s important to recognize that at the beginning of any venture with a new website or blog it will take time to build momentum, generally with this site, I have been seeing a traffic increase that is exponential in nature. It’s very exciting to watch a project grow and expand, everyday the Adsense revenue grows a little bit, some days are slower than others. As long as you are seeing an increasing trend in both new visitors and returning visitors, that means you are on the right track.

New visitors will generally show up on the hunt for information about certain topics or interests and they may come from any number of sources but the three primary sources are search engine traffic, social networking traffic and direct bookmarks.

I have managed to retain quite a few subscribers with this blog which is not my primary intent but definitely an added benefit. Already I’ve been gaining strategic networking partners and new projects are beginning to emerge as a result of this site.

Content should be built slowly with a few articles everyday or new content on a daily basis. It is important to give the content time to reach the search engines so you can monitor your statistics and figure out which keyword terms you are beginning to dominate. If a keyword term starts bringing in a large quantity of traffic, try to experiment with related keywords and see if you can find and even large source in which you can tap.

At a certain point a blog or website starts to reach maturity, you can still had keywords but it starts to become a lot more difficult as you are already firmly placed in your appropriate niche category. Look forward to the day that you dominate the search engines for your target keywords, if you have done your job right, it won’t be too long from now.

The make money online niche seems to have limitless topics of discussion. If you can master this niche, a field that has millions upon millions of competitors, it should be relatively easy to target and master a niche with just a few million.
