How to Not Make Money Online

It’s not easy to learn how to make money online and its definitely not easy to actually earn money online. It is easy on the other hand to get frustrated trying to make money online. Do you really want to know how to not make money online? Currently this blog is averaging about 50 new visitors a day and if this was a few years ago, I would be incredibly pleased with my progress considering how young this blog is. Unfortunately in my mind I was supposed to be hitting at least 250 new visitors a day minimum by now and the only thing I can do is analyze why I’m not making money online with this blog yet!

Let’s take a look at some variables that will help explain why my new visitor count is so low…

Backlinks

Backlinks are the lifeblood of a growing site. In the past Google had much less stringent guidelines for assessing search engine ranking places, nowadays it places a lot of weight in anchored text links from high PR sites. All links are not considered equal so if your trying to make money, find high quality, credible sites with decent PR i.e. 2-3-4-5-6 to place a contextual anchor link somewhere in their content linking to you with your target keywords..

Market research is very important when trying to find backlinks. Review which sites your competitors are getting links from, figure out if they are anchor text links or blogroll links and try to develop friendships with these sites and there owners over time. Leave comments that are encouraging and provide a benefit to the sites owners and you will be making friends in no time. Keep in mind, market research marketing is a very important factor in blog and website growth.

Currently this site has only 68 total backlinks and out of those links only 13 have my primary anchor text keywords. Keep in mind that my competitors have more than 100 high quality anchor text links and a horde of quality backlinks that don’t include anchor text. This reminds me that I have a long way to go in this area.

Keywords

Currently this site is only ranking for a total of 165 keywords which would normally be pretty good but ranking for keywords and ranking well for keywords are two completely different things. What keywords am I ranking for? Wouldn’t you like to know, I will give you a tip on this one though, go to Google and search for keyword tool, they have an amazing service that searches the Google Adwords database and comes back with the total number of monthly searches on average for any given keyword. In addition, they will provide you with a list of similar keywords and how many searches on average per month those get as well!

If you really want to make money online and work from home, you are going to have to treat these tools like your best friend, they will tell you where to go and from there its just building in your desired target keywords into your posts and anchor text backlinks.

This will get you on the fast track to making money, as you continue to build the number of in post target keywords and backlinks your revenue will grow with them.

Momentum

It takes a certain amount of time to begin to see progress in regard to SERP improvements for target keywords. This is because search engines take time to register and weight these new links and content and make the appropriate adjustments to rankings for certain terms.

In addition, article directories are where you see a large improvement in rankings and currently the articles I have posted are becoming available in syndicated format but it simply takes time to get them posted and even more time for Google to register your anchor links that become widespread within the articles.

This site is gaining momentum but if I was able to focus all my attention and energy into this venture I’m fairly sure that the momentum would be increasing at a much faster rate.

When your topic is how to earn money you simply have to take the time to research because there are so many avenues to take, a lot of sites and pages lure you in with empty promises saying if you sign up for something you will make some fast doing some paid surveys and promising residual income that you will never see a penny of.

Taking time to do research is just as important as finding the time to write articles or finding the time to create anchor text backlinks. It all adds up so you’re going to have to find the time to do all these things or you won’t start seeing the momentum you desire for a long time.

You wont start seeing the easy money till you have momentum and making money on the internet is just like making money anywhere else, hard work, dedication and determination play a large role in whether or not you will be successful. If you want to learn how to get rich quick you might have to look elsewhere because this site is dedicated to offering real world practical advice and nothing more.

In my opinion websites that offer paid surveys are the worst. That is a sure fire way to learn how to not make money online. You have probably been pitched by someone offering online surveys to make some extra income, then you do a little research and realize they are a dead end or even worse, your computer is infected with adware and viruses!

If you think that surveys make money from my experience you’ve been had. Making cash for surveys is one dream that many people have had and failed. Some surveys earn money but those are usually from reputable sites like Greenfield and NPDOR.

The bottom line is that you will never see any momentum with these type of money making opportunities, just an empty bank account and a broken heart.

How Not to Make Money Online

The following are a list of ways how not to make money:

1.) Don’t do your homework before starting a new website.

2.) Sign up for some affiliate program that promises the world and turns out to be a scam.

3.) Giving up on your business ventures and throwing in the towel. Quitters never get rich. Unless you find a better alternative then you may be on the right track…

The thing is that it’s much easier to talk about how to make money online then how not to make money online because it focuses on positives rather than negatives.

I used to have a business marketing teacher in college that emphasized one rule above all others.

What was Professor Safavi’s #1 Rule?

This is the most important rule and I firmly believe it, the rule is “Always be a yes man!”

What this means is that you need to focus on the positives and if someone asks you to do something say yes, negotiate your own terms and make the proposition work for you, this is something that I try to reinforce in my own personality 100% each and every day of my life.

If you were to ask me, “Can Your Blog Is Money really compete with the top dogs in the Make Money Online niche?”

Do you want to know what I would say? I bet you can guess this much… My answer would be yes!

So do you really want to know how to not make money online?

I like your blog and style, yes you can compete if you persevere, and don’t put all your eggs in one basket.;o)

I like rule #2. I find that many bounce out of their business plan based on that rule right there. So many scams out there… “For only $2.99 you can drive 9 million visitors to your site!”

Yeah, right.
