Internet Marketing - What is Defensible Traffic?

Many people have asked me to explain the term defensible traffic and explain why defensible traffic is important. If you want to earn money online, you will need to obtain a steady stream of defensible traffic.

Simply put, defensible traffic is web traffic obtained from sources that don’t necessarily include search engines like Yahoo! MSN Live or Google.

It’s the best type of traffic and at the same time it is the hardest type of traffic to build and obtain. When we rely on major corporations for our traffic as well as our revenue we place ourselves in a vulnerable position. What would happen to your advertising or affiliate revenue if you website or blog stopped receiving traffic from search engines?

That’s ok… You don’t need to answer that… I think it’s fairly obvious that we both know what would happen, and we both know that it wouldn’t be nice!

So, now that we understand what defensible traffic is, the next logical question is…

Where do we get defensible traffic?

There are many ways to obtain defensible traffic… Just to name a few you have things like social networking, niche link partnerships, RSS subscribers etc…
