If you like blogging, wouldn’t you like blogging for cash more? Would you believe that the majority of bloggers are not blogging for profit but for credit which makes a lot of sense when you think about it… With authority comes respect and with respect comes sales if that is your intent. If you are trying to recommend a product to someone, even if its something that has genuinely helped you in the past, people are not going to take your recommendation seriously unless you have their trust. Money will come with authority…
I’m not going to lie, I am an internet marketer, I like to blog for money, it is just one of the methods I use in order to generate income. Here’s another interesting fact, whenever you read my articles, they usually have an agenda that includes search optimization for a particular term. This whole website is dedicated to explaining how to make money online. In reality, web traffic is the key to making money online no matter what business you are currently in, you are not going to sell something or generate advertising revenues without customers!
If you use the Google Keyword Tool, you will see that blogging for cash is a term that is searched for on Google about 300 times per month. I know that it seems lame to target a term with such few searches but if you notice the name of this website… Your Blog Is Money actually has the word blog in the title so that makes it a perfect candidate to be ranked number one for the term blog which is one of my ultimate goals. If not ranked number one for the term blog then at least fall within the first few pages.
In previous articles I have elaborated on the fact that it is much easier to target long tail keyword terms instead of short keywords… The term blogging for profit is a long tail keyword term and the word blog is simply a keyword. When trying to capitalize on web traffic you should always focus on long tail keywords until you build up enough momentum to go after the short term keywords. Every long term gets you points for the short term so in reality you are building on both at the same time.
Lately I have been working on gaining first place for the company name Me2Everyone… Because it is a fairly new company and it’s building a buzz everyday, it seemed like an easy one to capture. Unfortunately because of the low page rank of this blog and its residual sandbox effect that is steadily wearing off, I have been battling with Google to remain on the first page of results.
However, if you search for Me2Everyone Review you will find my position firmly placed in the number one position. The problem for being number one for a long tail keyword that not many people search for is that it results in a very small amount of traffic which still helps add to the bottom line but doesn’t end up making a big difference either way.
What I am trying to say is that when you are blogging for cash or more importantly blogging for profit you have to start somewhere and starting with a long tail keyword is a lot easier not to mention it quickly brings results. I’ve experienced quite a surge in visitors from last month to this month due to my article marketing, blog commenting and the addition of optimized content. I will go ahead and write a more detailed update of this blogs progress in a future article.
In the meantime, just to make sure this article can provide my readers with some sort of value, I will go ahead and leave you with the following questions…
Have you targeted a keyword term recently for your blog?
Is a long tail keyword term like blogging for cash or blogging for profit?
Have you been creating anchor text backlinks for your article?
