This article is written for people that want to create a new blog… Even though in the past I have said that Your Blog Is Money is going to be focused primarily on blogging strategies, bloggers and everything blog related including how to make money online with blogs. After doing some research even though the number of people searching for my main target keywords is an extremely high volume…
I’ve decided that this site has the ability to bring in a completely different type of visitor, one that just wants to learn about ways that they can work from home and make money online. The methods that my articles discuss generally involve reading, writing and link building in order to create websites and blogs that draw in traffic ultimately resulting in a revenue stream that is substantial enough to quit your day job and continue to do internet marketing full time as a profession. In short the articles are an attempt to explain how to make money on the internet for beginners.
If you get good enough in this field, there is no way you wont be able to earn a decent living through blogging in niche related fields and offering search engine optimization consulting services to the masses of people and business that don’t want anything to do with it.
I wanted to just remind my loyal subscribers that this blog will ultimately become a general or authority website about ways to make money online that go beyond simply creating a new blog.
That being said, lets get down to business and cover some bases relating to the title of this post:
Keyword Research
This is probably my least favorite activity but I’ve found that making this a daily activity as of late, its starting to become more enjoyable because I am getting better at it!
Finding a niche can be a very difficult task and even more difficult is finding a niche that has all the perfect criteria for a complete marketing assault on the competition.
What types of things should we look at in regard to finding a profitable niche?
I would say that you probably won’t find the “best” niche for starters but you can definitely find something that has potential. When I do keyword research I like to start with a buying term, something that is laser targeted on a buying impulse…
Basically start with the problem and present the solution…
There are two types of monetization strategies that should be considered when finding a new niche for profit. Are you planning to create a website that is focused on advertising revenues or affiliate marketing?
You can always do both but many times its better to create a new site with a very clear intent so as to make the most progress in the quickest amount of time.
If your goal is to market affiliate products with your new blog or website, try to find a product/service or niche related to the product/service that has the following attributes:
High search volume (use the Google keyword tool or Wordtracker)
High affiliate payout or pay per click rate (figure out if the commission you will be getting on the product via clickbank, paydotcom or another affiliate company is worth the effort, use a program like keyword elite to figure out the average adwords bid price)
Low competition (If the product is weight loss pills search Google for the term and place it in quotations to limit your search to the exact phrase.)
Once you find a niche that has a high search volume, high adwords bid price and low number of competing websites, you have a winner. Keep in mind that you are looking for the best combination of the variables.
Some people like to work on niches that are very obscure; they develop winning strategies based around low competition and high conversion rates. In addition, laser targeted niche sites are easier and quicker to build which results in the ability to create several small sites in the time it would take to make an authority site.
If it’s not obvious by now, I have been spending a lot of time building content on this website in an effort to make this my authority site on how to make money online. Sure I have other niche sites and usually I create websites and blogs in pairs so that I can facilitate my 3 way link exchanges and not have to inconvenience people who only have one related niche site.
That is simply my strategy regarding how I create a new blog. If you’ve read a few of my articles I hope that its clear that I don’t imply to be the expert in this niche or any other however, my formula does create websites and blogs that make money so when I write about a topic like this, I don’t have to feel like a hypocrite.
If you want to know more about this article’s topic, you can always feel free to check out some of the leading authorities in this niche, people like John Chow, Carl Ocab, Shoemoney, and Grizzly (although he doesn’t like to be referred to as an a lister, even though in my opinion, he is or at least the money he has coming in should make him one if only as an honorary title lol).
In addition, people have called me out before on this blog and others in an attempt to criticize the information I present as being inaccurate or flat out lies however I don’t take the criticism personally and its always welcomed… The fact of the matter is that while those people are out criticizing, I am creating content and building anchor text links to make that content popular. In fact, I bet you’d be surprised to know that I am even building links while writing this article… How did I accomplish that? I’ll leave it up to your imagination but just keep in mind that it is possible.
The nice thing about internet marketing is that there is more than enough money to go around! Find a niche, make a blog, create content, acquire anchor text backlinks, get to the top of the Google search results for your target keywords rinse and repeat. If you have a better strategy for building an empire and making residual income online, please drop me a comment and let me know! If I like the answer I may decide to bring it up in a future post and will make sure to give credit to the author!
