The Pains of Internet Marketing

It seems like its time to review my progress with subscribers and share some statistics regarding the web traffic this fairly new website is receiving. We will always have to deal with the pains of internet marketing and learning what does and does not work is just a fact of life. If you’ve ever heard of something called the 80/20 rule then you may already be tuned in to what I’m talking about… Basically eighty percent of your success will come from twenty percent of the work you do in achieving it. The hard part is recognizing which eighty percent is not getting results and trying your best to gradually decrease that to a lesser extent.

I have been focusing on internet marketing and web development for quite a long time and it has taken me an extremely large amount of time to gain methods that produce results. Eventually I would like to use this website to justify the spin-off of a company dedicated to search engine optimization consulting services. In essence it is a playground to practice different seo techniques and perfect methods that result in high quality keyword targeted traffic.

Recently my articles have been all over the place and have titles like:

how much money do you have to make to file taxes?

and

how can I get money to start my own business?

Most people that can read between the lines have probably realized that these topics don’t have much to do and aren’t particularly related to my normal posts about making money online, internet marketing and search engine optimization strategies. The bottom line is that I am currently experimenting with the creation of article topics that get high search traffic outside of my target niche. Google is a machine and its search engine follows certain rules and algorithms that are rigid and standardized for the most part. If you can make Google happy, you will be rewarded with search engine traffic.

If you are curious how well I’m ranking for the two articles that I have placed links to, please take a moment and search for the terms. If you want to make a fortune in internet marketing, learn the fundamentals of economics i.e. supply and demand, connecting the dots etc… Find something that a person is looking to buy but is undersupplied and offer the solution. You will find that you will not only make a profit but will benefit humanity through your efforts.

Your Blog Is Money has started to get some attention in the blogging community and has even outranked some of the “Professional” internet marketers and “A-Listers” on the Google search engine for terms including project payday, me2everyone and how to make money blogging.

In addition, the site’s Alexa ranking, although admittedly not the best way to track a website’s popularity has changed from roughly seven million to 388,000.

Here is a screenshot of my Alexa stats:

To make things even better, the website has been starting to attract private advertisers with our extremely reasonable advertising rates (which will remain reasonable for early advertisers…). After monitoring some of my click thru rates for various ads, the advertisers I’m working with are getting a bargain for my targeted traffic when compared to running a Google Adwords campaign that will cost them roughly twice as much per click. They will most likely notice that my rates are less than my competitors and decide to continue their arrangements when the contract runs out…

Adsense revenue is up and down but is not my primary form of monetization on this site. If you are familiar with ways to monetize blogs you may have already come to the realization that one of the best ways to make money from your blog is through recommendations of products and services. Some programs offer CPA (pay per lead) offers as well as CPS (pay per sale).

Using SEOtools patented Firefox plugin entitled Rank Checker, I’ve found out that I am starting to rank for a whole horde of keyword terms that will be unfolding in the next month or so… These are terms that have the potential to bring me in a lot of traffic and conversions. I’m hoping to get a re-indexing soon and a boost in my toolbar page rank which in reality is running a lot hotter than PR0 in my opinion. The only reason I would really care about my PR ranking for this site is because of link exchange opportunities…

Once my PR increases to 4 or better I will have a huge batch emails everyday to sort through requesting joint ventures and exchange opportunities. Most of these will be disregarded but if someone has a website that I think has potential and they seem committed I may decide to work out a few arrangements with people that need a boost.
