How to Blog

Want to know how to blog or more importantly how to make money from a blog? It’s easy to learn and doesn’t take that much skill or effort. The most difficult part is getting up the courage to actually stop reading and searching and take action. A blog is no more than a compilation of articles and entries and blogging is simply writing and publishing content on the internet. Before you learn how to blog wouldn’t it be best to determine what you’d like to blog about? For my regular subscribers I definitely apologize if this information doesn’t seem valuable but I assure you that I am going somewhere with this.

Personally I am a very logical person, before creating a blog I spend some time soul searching so to speak and becoming committed to a certain topic or subject. The reason I created “Your Blog Is Money” is because I wanted to give back some of the knowledge I have obtained while trying to learn and implement internet marketing techniques.

I want to share the information I have obtained from others that have shared it with me. There are too many people out there trying to sell crap that doesn’t have value, promoting empty promises pitches like “get rich quick” or “make a million dollars in one month.” The funny thing is that people actually give these charlatans their hard earned money knowing they are getting scammed or hustled. It’s just that the dream of making a ton of money without actually doing any work is so appealing and extremely hard to resist.

Everyone has their own opinion regarding how to blog i.e. how should one go about blogging. If you want a roadmap to success here’s a very crude game plan for beginners just getting started:

1.) Write down five different things you have a passion for.

2.) Out of those five things figure out the one you are most interested in and would be willing to write and research about.

3.) Go to Blogger.com and create a free blog. You will have the option to pick your URL/web address. Try to pick something that has your keywords or the name of your topic in it.

For example, if I wanted to create a blog about the history of rubber duckys I would try to obtain a name from Blogger like rubberducky.blogger.com or historyofrubberduckies.blogger.com

4.) Spend some time customizing the look of your blog and write an article with a simple introduction that is about 400 words or more.

5.) Try your best to keep the blog up to date by posting something every week. Spend time researching your articles and writing about things that you enjoy. If you want to blog about your life, make it into your journal and update it with exciting events that have happened to you recently etc…

If you are interested in making money with your blog, you might want to read an article series I wrote previously which goes into the subject with more detail and provides a clearer set of instructions regarding how to make a blog that gets traffic and generates residual income.

The bottom line is that there is no right way or wrong way to blog, if you feel like blogging then start small and take things one step at a time. Only you have control over the success or failure of your efforts so set yourself up for success from the beginning by researching and committing to something you are willing to follow through with. Before you know it, all your friends will be coming to you asking for advice and wanting you to teach them how to blog.
